Migraine

My Sunday (Feb.15, 2009) wasn't good at all. I was attacked by migraine and still suffering it now. So annoying and so disgusting to have this illness, huh'! I feel like I'm being punished.

According to the research, migraine is a very painful type of headache. People who get migraines often describe the pain as pulsing or throbbing in one area of the head. During migraines, people are very sensitive to light and sound. They may also become nauseated and vomit.

Migraine is three times more common in women than in men. Some people can tell when they are about to have a migraine because they see flashing lights or zigzag lines or they temporarily lose their vision.

Many things can trigger a migraine. These include

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Lack of food or sleep
  • Exposure to light
  • Hormonal changes (in women)

Doctors used to believe migraines were linked to the opening and narrowing of blood vessels in the head. Now they believe the cause is related to genes that control the activity of some brain cells. Medicines can help prevent migraine attacks or help relieve symptoms of attacks when they happen.

Personally, I used to take biogesic just to have a bit relieve from pain. For me also to have a li'l focus to my work especially this week, lot of deadlines to be met. huh'

FRIDAY the 13TH

Paraskevidekatriaphobics — people afflicted with a morbid, irrational fear of Friday the 13th — should be pricking up their ears about now, buoyed by seeming evidence that the source of their unholy terror may not be so irrational after all. But it's unwise to take solace in a single scientific study, especially one so peculiar. I suspect these statistics have more to teach us about human psychology than the ill-fatedness of any particular date on the calendar.

It is said to be the widespread superstition. The sixth day of the week and the number 13 both have foreboding reputations said to date from ancient times, and their inevitable conjunction from one to three times a year (there happen to be three such occurrences this year 2009 - [february, march and november], two of them right in a row) portends more misfortune than some credulous minds can bear. Exactly how old is difficult to say, because determining the origins of superstitions is an inexact science, at best. In fact, it's mostly guesswork.

Plumbing and Carpentry 101

Who said plumbing and carpentry are jobs just for boys? I don't think so. Some of them don't even have an idea how to do these things. I've had a bit of stick about being a girl but I really like doing it. I'm more of a hands-on person.

Last sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 - I've installed an HCG faucets for our sink, bathroom lavatory and Yale for our laundry area. Yale door knobs for the rooms upstairs and the one in the comfort room. I just read the manuals before installing them and proudly, yeaaaaaah I did it...

All I need were to have the basic tools, like the claw hammer, teflon, pliers, hand clamps and screw driver (at least in 2 sizes).

How about you guys, have you tried doing like I did?

DAY OF HEARTS

There are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine's Day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine.

Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. When we're still in our high school years, the date was marked by sending poems, love letters and simple gifts such as flowers, chocolates, stuff toys and the like. There was also a social gathering or a prom.

Personally, February 14, 2002 was my first Valentine's day with my long time friend, bestfriend, boyfriend, lover, my better half Buen. We celebrated it with full of surprises from him - the bunch of white roses delivered to the office, white toblerone chocolates, greeting cards, and the most "kilig" surprise was when he proposed marriage to me last Feb. 14, 2006 at Majestic Restaurant. Last year was our first valentine as a husband and wife. We had dinner, watched movie together. He bought a shapes blouse for me and the flowers, chocolates thing were still there...

This year, we'll be celebrating the day of hearts apart from each other. I don't have yet any plans of what to do. Perhaps, we could just have to talk over the phone or to have a chat or whatever... hmmm... come what may....

Gates is now worth $58 billion and is ranked third richest in the world. He is up $2 billion from a year ago, but would have been as rich--or richer--than Buffett, had Microsoft not made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo! at the beginning of February. Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim HelĂș now ranks as the world's second richest person with a net worth of $60 billion.

PUERTO PRINCESA Tropical Paradise City

I just can't resist the excitement. I love to travel, love to explore any places in the whole wide world. If I could just have plenty of resources, I would be spending my whole life on traveling to different places I've never been. hehe...

On the 10th to 12th day of March, 2009 - we will be exploring Puerto Princesa City. Hoping for a perfect weather. To start with,
I got these ideas / infos about the Paradise City. The City of Puerto Princesa (Filipino: Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa), the capital of Palawan, is a first class city in the Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 210,508 people in 33,306 households. It is famous for its crocodile farms, underground rivers and dive spots. It is also the largest city in the Philippines in terms of total land area. This city is the hometown of the former House Speaker Ramon Mitra, Jr.. Puerto Princesa is synonymous with breath-taking sights, pristine sand beaches, lush rainforests and beautiful islands. Mangrove swamps and limestone cliffs create a scenic counterpoint to foaming surf pounding the uneven shoreline. Hilly terrain dotted with trees, home to a wide array of colorful wildlife, hug the winding roads to the north. Rivers, cold and hot springs, and waterfalls offer a serene repose amid the rugged landscape.

I'll just have to make this post updated as soon we'll be going back from our Palawan gateaway... So exciting ....yeaaaaaaaahh... :)

HOW TO COPE IF YOU'RE STILL IN LOVE WITH YOUR "EX"

As the song says: “Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear. Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near. It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye...” Though the truth really devastates you, still you need to be strong and let the situation be... Here, put yourself in the opposite side: If YOU didn’t want to be with someone, and let him know it, what would you expect the other person to do? Hopefully to let go, and move forward with dignity...

The biggest “cure all” every time you miss him, or thinking about him with sadness, is to vividly remember the times he treated you like DIRT, and ask yourself: “Is THAT what I REALLY WANT?” When the answer is NO – then keep that in your mind. It will replace the old pattern of putting him on a pedestal when he treated you far less than the way you deserved. It will also help you to replace the pain with the truth of the situation.

Every time thoughts about him suddenly come into your mind, do the above, AND re-direct your focus on to something that is positive and life enhancing for YOU, or others that you love. You have the power to consciously re-direct your thoughts and FOCUS. Do that every time the blues start to creep in to your consciousness.

Really TRUST that everything DOES work out for the best in the long run, and if you can remember a time when you were sad about something, only to be grateful for the growth you’ve made, and how the situation worked out for your highest and best after all, this will help you realize that this situation is no different.

View the other person with compassion, rather than with bitterness. Realize that he did the best he were capable of, and if his best was not in your best interest, then it is a gift that they are out of your life

Get deeply and passionately absorbed in your life purpose! THIS is the most powerful thing you can do! Why waste your energy, focus, and attention on a PAST situation, when you can really be making significant and positive difference in your life, as well as in the lives of others!

Every time you start to think about him, and begin to play your drama of the past in your mind, consciously CHOOSE to focus on the NOW, and all of the great things you can be doing. Focus on being and expressing your highest and best self. Remember that you don’t NEED him at all. YOU are the gift. He may be a gift as well, however, if he was out of your life, your life MUST carry on in the most vibrant, positive and life-renewing manner possible. This is ALL within your conscious choice and control.

Really thank him (in your mind) for every lesson you have learned, every new discovery you have made, and the difference he DID make in your life. Realize that THAT was his purpose for entering your life. So now you can release him with a lot of gratitude, loving compassion, dignity, and grace.

For me, this is the best quote (from a forwarded text message) to say: “If someone leaves you, don't dare cry for him. Instead, be happy. Pero bago mo siya palayain, ibulong mo muna sa kanya “gwapa ko d0ng, hubag pa jud...” Pasalamat ka, nagka UYAB ta.” haha... Funny but it's true di ba?

Well, the thought there, is - so that YOU can be FREE FROM PAIN, and misery! So that you can attract someone into your life that will treat you incredibly well, and because you DESERVE to be happy in a real relationship!

Why should you hold out for crumbs from someone similar to a dog waiting on the doormat for a couple of crumbs of attention? Don’t you really deserve to have a fantastic relationship? YES! You do! Everyone does. If you are in pain the majority of the time, then you deserve to free yourself, so that you can live with inner peace, and grow with enough self-love to attract your true counterpart.

You can only attract according to what you believe you deserve, and I swear to you that you WILL attract someone that is far healthier for you once you really learn how to love and appreciate yourself.

Don’t you want to be treated in the best manner possible? So if you are in pain most of the time, that pain is saying: “Hey, get me out of this, because IT HURTS!” And the only way to remove yourself from the source of emotional agony in your life is to make a COMPLETE break.

Lastly, have to set in mind the cycle of loving: Love and Get Hurts, Get Hurts and Leavin', Learn and Love Again!!!

To my friend Mardie

What does it mean when a man says "It's too late to a woman? Isn't it unusual for a man to say that to his girl? Well for me, it doesn't matter who'd say that – if it's the girl or the boy. It is his or her prerogative. Is he telling his woman that he has given up hope?

Sounds like that, doesn't it? Well, apparently it does have such a connotation. And when a man says it's too late, in a general sense, you can take the words literally - meaning it is too late.

Usually a response to certain action, word or behavior by his partner, when these 3 words come out from your man's mouth, to conclude that the death sentence has been given seems too harsh and extreme, but it may indeed reflect his intentions, especially if the circumstances are grave enough.

How then can you, as a girlfriend, turn the situation around when he says It's too late? In response to you asking a question or saying something that once used to matter a lot to him but no longer is?

Well, it depends on how much this person and this relationship means to you. It's still not too late, if his heart is not with someone else.

All it means is you have to really spend a lot of effort to make his open up again, and to share with you what he really feels. Usually, it is not the words he say that is the problem.

Listen hard to what he says. Listen harder to what he is not saying. And the only way to find out is by asking him, gently. You may need to probe many times before he's willing to tell you, especially if he has been attempting to show his love to you for thousands of times and not getting any reciprocal attention. How to ask him so you can find out the real answer? Well, you must appeal to his emotions and feelings.

Men also need to feel secured, loved and appreciated. By taking care of his feelings first before your own needs, you can be sure that he will reciprocate much much more to your needs and give you even more freedom than you can ever imagine.

Like I said, it's never too late if he is not in love with someone else. All it takes is lots of patience and love on your side to let him know he is still the one you love the most and he is the most important person in your life... Good luck and God bless you girl :-)muaaah
